SKILLS
Semiconductor materials physic and device, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, FIB/SEM microscopy

Gonzalo Alba completed the BSc degree in Electronic Engineering in the University of Cádiz (2014) and the MSc in Electronics, Signal Processing and Communications in the University of Seville (2016). In 2017 he started his research career in the Department of Materials Science at the University of Cádiz and obtained the PhD degree in 2022. His studies are mainly focused on the characterization of diamond surfaces terminations but also in metal/diamond contact interfaces combining TEM, FIB/SEM, XPS, AFM and electrical (I/V, C/V) characterization techniques in order to find relationships among the microstructure, chemistry, composition and the electrical behaviour of diamond-based power devices. As part of his internationalization, he made stays at the Institut Néel(Grenoble, France) as well as at the National Institute for Materials Science (Tsukuba, Japan). In December 2020, he obtained a 3 years term “PTA 2019” grant (Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities of Spain) and started to work as a FIB/SEM research assistant at the Institute of Electron Microscopy and Materials (University of Cádiz).
